This is a lovely late 19th Century Victorian jewellery box finished in an attractive deep red leather. The hinged lid is fitted with a carry handle, that sits in a shaped mount. To the front is a shield shaped escutcheon and the box retains its original lock and key, with the lid open the silk lined interior is revealed, along with the original tray, with provisions for a watch or bracelet and rings. A lovely piece, both usable and decorative.
