Item Details
Rare pocket sized silver cased tape measure of excellent quality, dating from the late Victorian era. The casing is elegantly simplistic, free from engraving and very tactile. The tape pivots on a central pin and of is sprung steel. It works via a ratchet system and once pulled will remain extended until the release button on the top is slid to one side. On sliding the release button the sprung loaded tape retracts back into the body. The tape itself is 1 meter/ 40 inches in length and is printed with both imperial and metric measurements. A superb and very desirable item, still usable today.
