This is a gorgeous enamelled biscuit or storage jar, dating to the early part of the 20th Century. The body and lid of this excellent example is of clear glass. The domed lid has a shaped handle for ease of use and the base is flat and wide for stability. Both body and lid are beautifully hand painted with enamel and feature bows, swags and garlands of roses. There is a band of gilding which is repeated to the handle in spiral form.
