An extremely rare silver opisometer from the reign of King George V. Opisometers is a desirable item, used mainly for measuring curved lines on maps such as roads and rivers. Rarely found in hallmarked silver, this is clearly the former possession of someone with standing and wealth. A superb and interesting collector's piece with practical use.

Maker:- John Henry Hill (1917-26).
Date:- London c1920.
Measurements
Length from attaching loop to scroll wheel :- 6.5 cms. Diameter :- 3.8 cms. Depth :- 1 cm.
Condition
Very good, with no dents or splits to the silver. Slight staining to the dial on one side at the top, both dials clear and readable. One face has a crack to the glass, which does not affect use and is commensurate with age and use.
