Excellent example of a silver trinket box or large pill box dating to the Edwardian period. This useful and decorative piece has a solid silver base with a pull off lid. The lid is fitted with an unusual inset panel of attractive carved Tortoiseshell in a basket weave pattern and highlighted with delightful gold stud work. With the lid removed the fully gilded interior is revealed. A quality example, both practical and collectable.
Hallmarks:- Full set to both base and lid. Softening to lid, but readable. Clear and readable to base.
